LIVE & WORK AT THE COLUMBIA ICEFIELD SKYWALK

Have you always wanted to overcome your fear of heights? Then this is the place for you! Spend your days nearly 1,000 feet above a glacier-carved valley with views that will take your breath away.

The Columbia Icefield Skywalk experience features waterfalls, wildlife, fossils and more on an 1-kilometre walkway that leads to a glass-floored platform high above the rushing Sunwapta River and the habitat of mountain goats. We take pride in connecting our guests to the natural world in a deep and meaningful way.

All About the Skywalk

Location

In the heart of the Rockies on the iconic Icefields Parkway, we’re about 2.5 hours (185 km) from Banff to the south and 1.5 hours (105 km) from Jasper to the north.

Our Guests

We host over 350,000 guests between May and October at the Columbia Icefield.

Getting Around

We hike, climb and sometimes even ski right from our doorstep on the Icefields Parkway. Staff accommodation is just a few minutes’ walk from the Discovery Centre, so vehicles aren’t required, but are good for exploring further afield. Regular buses take our team to the mountain community of Jasper (1.5 hour drive) for shopping, exploring and socializing.

Staff Housing

Our team lives and breathes the Icefield, with the views from our staff accommodation looking out on the rugged peaks that surround us. Our teams stays cozy at the “Ice Palace” in shared rooms suited for two roomies per room. Staff accommodation fees are $15/day (payroll deducted) and include three hearty meals per day! Shared washrooms, common areas and laundry are on site.

Stay Connected

While much of the Icefields Parkway is out of phone service, there is now cell phone reception at the Columbia Icefield. We've also got you covered with wifi at staff accommodation and the Discovery Centre.
