Like for so many others, everything changed for our team when the COVID-19 pandemic hit in mid-March, 2020. Each week, Pursuit President David Barry delivered a team message aimed to keep our staff connected, informed and committed to resiliency. This message was shared with the team on March 27, 2020.
We’re holding steady through the waves of change that storm around us. If we didn’t already have a reputation for thinking on our feet and adapting fast, we sure do now. The energy and efforts, and the grace and understanding, of our colleagues across the Pursuit world this week have been inspiring.
We’re fighting hard to make it through this storm and into a brighter future. So let’s talk about the future, starting with the very near term. Our priority is your well-being. Our focus is on your personal health and safety and that of your family. We must all do our part to flatten the curve and the limit the spread of COVID-19. By following strict guidelines, we can reduce the load on scarce medical resources. Let’s do our part to slow this damn thing down!
If you or anyone you know is in need, be sure to reach out. Across Pursuit we are working hard to make our resources available for those in need. We’re preparing rooms at certain hotel properties in Banff, Jasper and Seward for those who may need safe quarantine. We’re sharing much-needed supplies with regional health authorities and will ensure that our stocks of gloves, toilet paper and cleaning supplies will be put to good use. We can and we will help — no question about it.
What you can do to help is stay home, stay safe, and keep an eye on each other. And while we’re social distancing and self-isolating, it’s really important that we stay connected. Reach out with a phone call, leave supplies on a porch, or just forward a good old meme. Let’s not underestimate the power we have to lift each other’s spirits.
Stay well, stay safe, stay strong.
David Barry
President, Pursuit
