Like for so many others, everything changed for our team when the COVID-19 pandemic hit in mid-March, 2020. Each week, Pursuit President David Barry delivered a team message aimed to keep our staff connected, informed and committed to resiliency. This message was shared with the team on May 8, 2020.
With the help of so many across the Pursuit world and our regional health authorities, we made a very important promise this week. A promise to our team, our guests and our communities. A promise to do all we can to operate safely and wisely into the future. Our Safety Promise represents the responsibility we have to Honor Place and Bring our Best by doing what’s right to take the first steps forward.
Pursuit’s Safety Promise is a promise that’s worth standing behind. It’s for our safety and well-being, and it’s also for our shared future. As we speak, that future continues to take shape. I know the top question on everyone’s mind is still “when will we open our doors?” The answer to that question is coming, slowly and carefully.
Right now, our team at FlyOver Iceland is putting into practice the elements of Safety Promise as they prepare to reopen this weekend. Take heart in the shared excitement of reopening our first Pursuit experience. It’s a glimmer of light in this strange and challenging time. When the time is right across the Pursuit world, our experiences will be ready and people will be ready to travel again. We will keep doing what we do best: building authentic connections to iconic, inspiring and unforgettable places.
Stay well, stay safe, and keep smiling.
David Barry
President, Pursuit
