Meet Glacier Park Lodge

Glacier Park Lodge is an enchanting heritage hotel with a distinctive design and décor honoring the vibrant history of Glacier National Park. Also known as the “Big Tree Lodge,” the lodge is located on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation and is part of a charming little community with basic services.

The hotel is open seasonally and features full-service dining, and even a 9-hole and pitch ‘n putt golf courses on the property. Personal vehicles are advantageous for exploring the glacier-carved peaks and valleys of the national park.

Life at the Lodge

  • Stay Here: Not just a house, but a home. Staff accommodation is provided in rustic dormitories suited to 3-4 people per room, with some accommodation for couples available. Common areas, laundry and an employee dining room are on site. Accommodation, including three meals per day, is provided for $12.75 per day with discounts for returning team members.
    • For those who live on the mobile side of life, we offer full RV hook-up sites at Glacier Park Lodge. Cost is $6.38/day per person which includes 1 meal per day.
    • We encourage employees to return for multiple seasons. As an incentive, we provide a 25% discount on meals and lodging for each consecutive season worked, up to a maximum 50% discount for 3 or more consecutive seasons worked.
  • Nourish: Hearty fare to match the fresh mountain air at our employee dining room. Living off-property this season? You’re still welcome at the Employee Dining Room, alternative meal plans are available.
  • Stay Connected: The best cell phone service provider in the area is Verizon. Staff Wi-Fi and computers are available on site.

Meet St. Mary Village

You’ll find St. Mary Village where the wilderness of Glacier National Park meets the sweeping plains of Montana. The remote settings call to adventurers who live at the jumping-off point to the heart of the park—the intersection of the iconic Going-to-the-Sun Road and the eastside boundary highway (MT 89).

  • Where we’re at: At the East Gates, St. Mary Village is tucked into a beautiful landscape. The backdrop is St. Mary’s Lake on the Going to the Sun Road, surrounded by lodgepole pines and rolling mountains. 
  • We host over 20,000 guests June through September in our 127 guest rooms spread across 7 facilities.

Nestled amongst the cedar trees at the foot of Lake McDonald on Glacier National Park’s west side, Apgar Village Lodge & Cabins oozes nostalgia and summertime glory. Embrace the hustle and bustle of the Village or find solitude with easy access to Glacier’s remote North Fork area. Employees here enjoy a sense of community in living and working with our other west side properties.

The gateway to the Glacier National Park’s west entrance is where employees and visitors can easily connect with the Going-to-the-Sun Road, the Flathead River for floating and fishing, and the incredible hiking in the “Crown of the Continent.” Living in West Glacier Village offers a quintessential park experience inspired by the 1930s origins of the community. Employees here enjoy a sense of community in living and working with our other west side properties.

  • West Glacier Village is a short mile walk to theentrance to Glacier National Park, offering easy access to the Flathead River for floating, swimming and fishing on a summer day.
  • We host over 6,000 guests every May through September in our 32 guest rooms and feed, entertain and help tens-of-thousands more who are just passing through

Tucked away near the shores of scenic Lake McDonald, our smallest Glacier property is located inside the park along the Going-to-the-Sun Road. The close-knit team of Motel Lake McDonald enjoys working in an entrepreneurial environment and can chose to live off site or within our west-side community.
